Green Cloud Technologies has reached an agreement to acquire MSSP and Fortinet MSSP Expert partner Cascade Defense, according to a prepared statement. The company also has appointed Cascade Defense co-founder Steve Sims as its VP of security and CISO.This is M&A deal number 103 that MSSP Alert and sister site ChannelE2E have covered so far in 2021. Following the acquisition, Green Cloud plans to roll out a managed security information and event management (SIEM) and security operations center-as-a-service (SOCaaS) offering to its 685 MSP partners, the company said.Cascade Defense offers a variety of managed security services, including:Email Security: Uses Fortinet's FortiMail email gateway to help organizations guard against email-based attacks Firewall: Provides SOC analyst monitoring across an organization's managed devices Secure SD-WAN: Leverages Cascade Defense's SOC team for security and network monitoring, alerting and support Cascade Defense strengthens Green Cloud's security capabilities, Green Cloud CEO Keith Coker said. It provides Green Cloud with a full-service SOC and could help the company extend its cybersecurity market reach.Customizable marketing campaigns Dedicated sales support Lead generation tools Private, public and hybrid cloud solutions are available from Green Cloud across multiple storage tiers. Also, Green Cloud provides backup and disaster recovery solutions, desktop-as-a-service (DaaS) and fully managed security services.Green Cloud has M&A experience. The company previously acquired Cirrity (Atlanta, Georgia), another cloud services provider (CSP) that worked exclusively through the IT channel. Financial terms of that deal were not disclosed.
