Stellar Cyber Launches New Partner Program for MSSPs

Stellar Cyber launched its Open Cybersecurity Alliance program last month, a move aimed at enabling security vendors to easily integrate their products into its Open XDR Security Operations Platform and for businesses and MSSPs to access those tools.

This week, the San Jose, California-based company has rolled out Infinity MSSP partner program, an enhanced partner program that includes more incentives and benefits for MSSPs that use the platform to drive revenues and reduce costs.

The new Infinity MSSP Partner Program reflects what Jeff Hill, senior director of Americas Service Providers and MSSP at Stellar Cyber, describes as an industry trend where businesses are increasingly looking at external service providers for cybersecurity support.

“They may have a core cybersecurity team, still they want to augment the team with outside expertise,” Hill told MSSP Alert. “MSSPs bring this knowledge from advisory services to IR [incident response] to pen testing and blue teaming, to 24x365 SOC [security operations center] services.”

A Global Opportunity

The vendor sees a global opportunity among organizations with 500 to 10,000 PCs or employees, he said. Stellar Cyber serves around 14,000 customers, largely through its partnerships with MSSPs, managed detect and response (MDR) providers, and global systems integrators (GSIs) it works with, Hill said, highlighting that their network includes about 33% of the MSSP Alert’s Top 250 Global MSSPs.

Three years ago, Stellar Cyber launched its JumpStart partner program, which Hill said educated executives on how to succeed in the channel.

“Infinity is our idea of a market-leading partner program,” he said. “It’s not just tech, it’s not just business, it’s not just working hand-in-hand to help all boats rise. It’s all of these melded into an actionable program that is easy to consume. And it’s something we know we can scale.”

Meshing MSSPs with Open XDR Platform

The program also dovetails with the company’s efforts behind its Open Cybersecurity Alliance initiative.

“We want to align both the open infrastructure building the platforms providers use to drive their business, with the providers leveraging this open infrastructure to deliver open services,” he said. “Both need to be done to deliver on the promise that a customer can get the value without disrupting what they have already invested in.”

Benefits and Incentives

Through the Infinity program, the company ensures that all services and revenue opportunities go through MSSPs. Additionally, it offers an accelerated onboarding process that is structured and organized and includes a customized migration plan to the Open XDR platform and online training for MSSPs in AI-driven security operations.

A sales enablement program includes support for business development and sales teams including tools and other resources for competitive intelligence, technical benefits, and differentiation from competitors. Through the company’s partner portal, MSSP get information about deal registrations processes, marketing materials, and other content for sales teams.

Stellar Cyber provides flexible licensing and billing designed to optimize profitability by balancing operational costs with capital expenditures, along with a dedicated technical account manager who offers personalized support, adoption guidance, and strategic insights.

MSSPs' Place in a Changing Landscape

The Open Cybersecurity Alliance and Integrity program for MSSPs arrives at a time when the security landscape is rapidly shifting—driven by rising AI adoption, expanding cloud environments, increasingly distributed IT infrastructure, and a growing volume of sophisticated cyberthreats.

MSSPs and MSPs play a crucial role in this, Hill emphasized. The distributed and virtual nature of IT started with the cloud and is still broadening out to the edge. The fast pace of AI adoption is driving new ideas and helping organization understand the potential pitfalls of the emerging technology, Hill said.

“MSSPs are actually where we see a faster speed of adoption as any incremental benefit helps the organization differentiate or save money,” he said. “They are the pioneers, if you will. You can imagine a large Fortune company may explore, but there are going to be natural barriers internally to slow learning.”
